Reception
We warmly welcome applications to our school from all members of our community. Applications for Reception class are made between September 1st 2024 and January 15th 2025 if your child will be turning four between September 1st 2024 and August 31st 2025. Applications are made online here: Primary school places – Durham County Council
The Admissions Policy has been formally adopted by the Local Governing Committee who is the Admissions Authority and is responsible for determining the school’s admissions policy.
The admissions authority has set its Published Admission Number (PAN) at 28 pupils to be admitted to reception, in the school year beginning in the September following a child’s 4th birthday.
Please contact the school to arrange a visit. Our headteacher will gladly show you around and tell you all about the excellent provision at our school.
Policies and documents in relation to admissions can all be found on our policies page linked below.
Applications must be made online on the schools admissions page on the Local Authority Common Application Form. All forms must be returned by the closing date set by Durham County Council.
Children and young people with an Education, Health and Care Plan (or Statement of Special Education Needs) follow a different admission and transfer process for a new school. Please continue to complete Durham County Council’s parental preference form, as part of the admission process to a new school. You continue to have a right to request a particular school and this will be considered alongside the information that we have about your child’s special educational needs. The information would have been provided as part of the Education, Health and Care assessment or following the review meeting.
St Michael’s Catholic Primary School prides itself in being very inclusive and will endeavour to support every child
If you would like to discuss your SEND requirements in detail please contact the school to arrange an appointment and we would be delighted to meet you.
